rockband-4-ps4-xbox-oneLast year it was initially announced that due to music piracy concerns, Rock Band 4 would not be coming to the PC. However the folks at Harmonix had a change of heart last month when they launched a crowdfunding campaign to help bring Rock Band 4 onto the PC, but unfortunately for fans of the franchise, that will no longer be happening.

It turns out that not many people were that interested in seeing Rock Band 4 ported onto the PC as the crowdfunding campaign on Fig fell short of its goal. The original goal was to hit $1.5 million, with Harmonix planning on contributing an additional $500,000 to meet the port’s cost of $2 million, but like we said the campaign fell short and only managed to raise $792,817 which is about 52.85% of their goal.

It is unclear as to how Harmonix plans to proceed and whether or not they will find another way to bring the game onto the PC. However we suppose if anything this can be used to show the demand for a PC port. Obviously if gamers were interested, more would have contributed to its campaign and so the lack of funding could be taken as a sign that maybe demand for a PC port isn’t as high as they think.

In any case until Harmonix says something, we can only assume that there will not be a Rock Band 4 for the PC anytime soon.
