shuddle-shutdownShuddle, the transportation service for children (also known as the Uber for kids), has decided to take the painful but necessary step to shut down its operations on the 15th of April – which is today. The reason behind this? Shuddle claims that they do not have enough funding in order to continue, and hence, having had to shutter its service.

With Shuddle, their ride-sharing service was a unique way for parents to send their children to school, other kinds of sports practices and perhaps additional tuition – there and back safely again. The thing is, Shuddle could not manage to raise enough funding to keep it up and running, and hence, had to take the painful step of sending a “goodbye” email to customers and drivers yesterday while informing them that the service would shut down today.

Shuddle has been around for over a couple of years already, having delivered safe and reliable transportation for children thanks to its ride-sharing service that places a whole lot of emphasis on being family-focused. In the letter, it mentioned, “We worked hard to find the financial resources that would allow us to continue to grow, but ultimately could not raise the funding required to continue operations.”

Looks like parents will have to reshuffle their time yet again after relying on Shuddle for some time now.
