xbox-one-hands-on-review-02Word on the street has it that Microsoft could be working on a new Xbox One, and last we heard the company had several prototypes that they are testing. Now thanks to a recent statement made by Xbox boss Phil Spencer, it seems that he might have dropped a hint that Microsoft could have a new Xbox console in the works.

Microsoft recently announced that they have ceased the production of the Xbox 360 and according to the statement made on the Xbox website, Spencer wrote at the end of the post, “Over the next few weeks and months, we’ll be sharing more of our plans for gaming on Xbox One, Windows 10 and beyond.”

Now it does seem like something the head of Xbox is expected to say, but some have taken the phrase “and beyond” to hint that new Xbox consoles could be on the way. It could be that Spencer is simply generalizing and that he is just simply referring to the future of the console and Windows 10.

However like we said, there have been rumors about new Xbox consoles in the works. Not to mention we have heard rumors that Sony is also working on an upgrade PS4, plus GameStop’s COO also opined that new consoles are “imminent”, and as the saying goes, when there’s smoke, there’s fire. Either way E3 2016 will be taking place in a couple of months so maybe we will learn more then.
