youtube redesignWith mobile internet being so fast these days, and with carriers offering up more data or even unlimited data plans, watching videos on the go is becoming increasingly common, with YouTube probably being one of the main places that people turn to for their video needs. YouTube knows this and has since announced some changes they are making to the app.

As you can see in the screenshots above, YouTube has made some changes to the way the homepage looks. Videos are now bigger so that you can see what you might be getting yourself into, but as YouTube notes on its blog, this is more than just slapping on a brand new coat of paint.

In addition to the redesign, YouTube has also changed its recommendation system that will now rely on neural network technology. According to YouTube, “The new recommendation system is based on deep neural network technology, which means it can find patterns automatically and keep learning and improving as it goes.”

It will also be able to suggest more recent videos from YouTube creators that you currently follow, so this is a good way of making sure that you are always able to watch their latest creation. The changes should already be live in the app so just fire up YouTube on iOS and Android to check it out.
