It’s safe to stay indoors when strong winds are blowing outside, it can be risky to venture outside during that time, and in case you ever wondered how you would hold up against gale force winds thank this bold weather researcher who faced winds of up to 109 miles-per-hour in the name of science.

The video of this weather researcher was shared online by Mount Washington Observatory. We can see him struggling to stand up straight against gale force winds of up to 109 mph, and we see him literally get blown over by the wind. It may not have been as fun as it looks on screen.

The weather was particularly bad that day. Wind chill felt like it was 20 degrees below freezing at the summit of Mount Washington and it even got several inches of snow. Combine that with gale force winds and you’ve got the perfect reason to stay huddled up inside.

It merits mentioning here that it’s not like extreme winds are a new phenomenon at Mount Washington. Some of you might not know this but it actually holds the record for the strongest wind gust humans have ever observed, at that particular instance the wind posted a mind boggling speed of 231miles per hour.
