cod beta codeEarlier this week Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was announced. The game also got its release date which is set for the 4th of November, 2016, but other than that the folks at Activision and Infinity Ward did not exactly dive into details, like what kind of features the game will have, and if and when there will be a beta that gamers can participate in.

The good news is that it looks like there will be a beta of sorts. This is according to a report from Charlie Intel who pre-ordered the game at GameStop. After placing their pre-order, they were given a receipt in which there was a code attached to the back that says it is for a future offer. Target’s reservation code also gave away more hints as you can see in the photo above which hints at a beta.

Activision has since confirmed that retailers are handing out codes for the game, but they did not say what it is for. According to their support website, “This code is for a future offer. We will email you further details on what this code gives in the near future. Please double check your email address and make sure it is up to date in our system. You can change your preferred email address in your Call of Duty profile.”

Like we said, this seems to hint that we could be expecting some kind of beta which wouldn’t be surprising. (Early) access to betas seems to be one of the perks that many companies are offering these days for customers who pre-order the game, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Activision were to offer something similar, but either way we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for the official confirmation.
