Bethesda has confirmed through Twitter today when the Fallout 4 Survival mode for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is going to be released. For those who are unaware, this is an optional level of extreme difficulty that arrives with the game’s 1.5 update. Both the update and the new mode is going to be released for consoles this Friday.

This isn’t the only Fallout 4-related news that Bethesda has confirmed today. It has also released the official trailer for the Fallout 4 Far Harbor expansion, the next paid DLC for this title which brings a new location and a new mission aside from additional content for those who pay for it.

Fallout 4 update 1.5 arrived on Steam last week and did bring Survival Mode for PC gamers. The mode gives players tougher choices by introducing circular systems that they might find in games like Dark Souls. Also included in the mode are limits on fast travel and a host of other challenges and obstacles.

When the update was released for PC, Bethesda confirmed that it’s only going to take a week or so for this update and Survival Mode to be released for consoles. It confirmed via a tweet today that Survival Mode is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Friday.

Console owners have something else to look forward to as well. Fallout 4 mods will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting next month, first for the Xbox and later for the PlayStation.
