dining-_texting_001According to a recent study, it is found that texting in meals is actually more acceptable than checking Facebook. However it seems that this does not necessarily apply to one’s wedding night, as a newly-wed bride found out after her husband had filed for a divorce after the bride had spent their entire wedding night on her phone texting her friends.

A report from the Saudi media says that the couple was expected to consummate their marriage and were in their hotel room, but instead of doing that, the bride was on her phone and was responding to congratulatory messages from her friends and completely ignored his attempts to get intimate.

A relative was quoted as saying, “The groom tried to get closer with her and more intimate, but he was shocked when she ignored him, not responding to his words or action. When he asked her if her friends were more important than he was, the bride answered that they were.” This prompted him to get angry and stormed out where he said he wanted to end their marriage.

There were attempts by a local court to try and get them to patch things up, but according to the Gulf News, it seems that their efforts were in vain as he would not budge on his decision.
