Major department store chain Kohl’s has become the first Apple Pay retailer to link store cards with rewards. This means that those who use Apple Pay to pay for their purchases can now pay with a Kohl’s Charge card and earn Yes2You Reward points at the same time, thus making Kohl’s the first Apple Pay retailer that combines store card payments and rewards in one single transaction that’s done by simply tapping the iPhone to a payment terminal.

The option is currently supported at around 250 Kohl’s stores across the United States and by the end of the month, it’s going to be available in all locations. This single-tap transaction system is going to work automatically provided that customers have both their Charge and Yes2You cards configured in Apple Pay.

Kohl’s has another Apple Pay first under its cap. Back in October 2015, it became the first retailer to have an Apple Pay-enable store card, allowing users to configure their cards inside the app and not worry about carrying them all the time.

With this latest option, it makes it much easier for customers to earn rewards for the purchases they make using the department store’s Charge card. Customers don’t have to worry about having to swap cards to earn points, everything is handled automatically the moment they tap their iPhone on the payment terminal to pay for their purchase. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
