league of legendsHave you ever played matches in games like DotA 2 or League of Legends where someone leaves early on in the game, leaving you on the team with 4 players while the other team has 5? This probably happens more often that you would like, and while it isn’t necessarily a guaranteed loss, it does make things harder.

The good news is that if you play League of Legends, the folks at Riot Games have announced that in an update, they will be addressing the issue with the “/remake” command. As the name suggests, this command will let players remake the game without any penalty to them or to their opponents.

Basically this command will make it seem like the match did not even take place to begin with, so for those worried about their ranking, stats, and penalties, there is nothing to be concerned about. Only the player who left or got disconnected will suffer penalties. However this command can only be used at the start of the game.

According to Riot, “If any player is dc’d or flagged afk for at least ninety seconds at the three minute mark, and no there’s been no first blood, all players on the short-handed team are prompted to /remake with a chat message.” All players on the team with less players needs to vote on the “/remake”, and it will require at least two of the four remaining players to say yes before the remake takes place. The feature will be rolled out for testing in patch 6.11 and is expected to be launched globally in the near future.
