halo-5-guardians-featuredIn the past we have heard that there was a chance that Halo 5 could eventually find its way onto the PC. In fact the recent announcement of Halo 5: Guardian Force mode coming to Windows 10 PCs would also seem to serve as a hint of what could come, but before you get too excited, it looks like a PC launch of Halo 5 is still no in the cards.

According to a recent blog post and FAQ on the Halo website, it was asked if the bringing of Halo 5: Guardians Forge was a sign that the full version of Halo 5 would be arriving on the PC, to which the answer was no. “As we’ve stated previously, we have no plans to release Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10. We are focused on building Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 and Xbox One.”

They add, “Releasing Forge for Windows 10 for free will open up endless opportunities to the PC community to build and play Halo 5 multiplayer content, while also allowing them to share their creations with gamers on Xbox One as well. Windows 10 remains an important focus for the Halo franchise moving forward.”

We’re not sure why they have managed to come so close to releasing the game on PC but not going all the way, since this certainly is quite the tease. In any case we guess until Microsoft changes their mind, PC gamers will need to turn to their Xbox One consoles to enjoy the game.
