With Overwatch focusing primarily on multiplayer gameplay, this means that it would be hard to tell the game’s story. We suppose to be fair Blizzard could have omitted stories entirely, but thankfully they have and have since tried to tell each character’s story through animated shorts and comics, and the latest animated short has dropped today.

Dubbed “Dragons”, the latest animated short from Blizzard will star two brothers: Hanzo, the ranged attacker who uses a bow and arrow, and Genji, a half-human, half-machine sword-wielding ninja. Both characters are brothers although based on the initial background story, they have both drifted apart due to differences in what’s expected of them.

According to Blizzard’s description of the trailer, “‘Dragons’ explores the history of conflict between the scions of the Shimada clan: Hanzo and Genji. In this episode, we follow Hanzo as he returns to the siblings’ family home in Hanamura to seek redemption . . . and confront the ghosts of the past.”

As expected, the animated short is very well done ala Blizzard style, so if you have some time to spare, check it out in the video above. In the meantime the animated short for Winston can be found here, and the short for Widowmaker (starring Tracer) can be found here too. Digital comics for other characters such as Jesse McCree, and Junkrat & Roadhog can be found here as well.
