overwatchA couple of days ago, Blizzard announced that Overwatch’s open beta was now open to those with early access. For those unfamiliar, early access was given to gamers who pre-ordered the game. For those who did not pre-order the game, open beta would only be going live on the 4th of May, 4pm PDT, which means that it is now live as we speak.

This means that if you did not purchase the game and you wanted to check out the game before dropping some serious money on it, you will now be able to take it for a test drive. The open beta is open to everyone across all platforms (except for Mac). PS4 and Xbox One gamers just have to search for “Overwatch” in their respective stores, select the open beta and download it.

For PC gamers, just fire up the Battle.net launcher, create an account if you don’t have one already, and start downloading the game. The open beta will also grant players access to all the features of the game, save for Competitive Play which Blizzard is still working on. There will also not be support for cross-platform play, so you won’t be brawling with Xbox One or PS4 gamers anytime soon and vice versa.

In the meantime Overwatch has been set for a release on the 24th of May, while the open beta will last from now until the 9th of May, 10am PDT.
