guile-street-fighter-5-2Capcom’s Street FIghter V is the latest installment in the Street Fighter V but it wasn’t necessarily off to the best start. There were issues with the game that some had felt that Capcom should have addressed before its release, and let’s not forget there were server problems that led to the game receiving poor reviews on Steam.

At the end of the day, Street Fighter V was not launched as smoothly as Capcom had hoped and this is something the company has recently admitted to. According to an English translated earnings report of the company, Capcom admits that Street Fighter V could have spent a little longer in development to receive the polish that it needed.

According to Capcom, “For example, some aspects of “Street Fighter V” needed more polish, such as the lack of content and server issues at launch. Accordingly, we feel it’s better to give a little more time to development than before, and have made slight adjustments to our portfolio. Profits may take one or two years longer to stack up than initially expected, however we will be firmly strengthening our brands.”

Hopefully with upcoming patches, Capcom will be able to get the game to where they want it to be. In the meantime the company has plans for a new Resident Evil game that could be released by early 2017, so here’s hoping that they have learnt from Street Fighter V before rushing anything out with the next Resident Evil title.
