iphone 7 renderingEvery 2 years Apple has a new iPhone design that they show off, with each design being a huge departure from its predecessor. Unfortunately if you were hoping that this year we will be seeing something similar with the iPhone 7, you might be disappointed. New renderings obtained by the folks at GSMArena show off what appears to be more of a variant of the iPhone 6s/6s Plus.

We should point out that according to GSMArena, the renderings pictured above are not official renderings, but rather they are unofficial renderings that are based on the alleged 3D schematics of the iPhone 7 that we have seen leaked so far. This means that they’re based on rumors which might not necessarily be the real deal.

However as the popular saying goes, when there is smoke, there is fire, and so far analysts and bloggers famed for being in the know when it comes to Apple products have not dismissed them either. That being said, the main differences here would be the lack of antenna bands across the back of the handset.

It also appears that the renderings do not include the headphone port which Apple is rumored to be ditching. It’s not a bad design, we guess, but if you wanted something completely new then it’s starting to look like you might be setting yourself up for disappointment.
