warlords-draenor-alphaGiven the number of expansions Blizzard has released for World of Warcraft (we know, it’s not even close to Everquest, but it’s still quite a few), it would be a really expensive way for gamers to get into the game if they had to purchase the base game and every single expansion released after that.

However the good news is that it looks like Blizzard has decided to bundle their latest expansion, Warlords of Draenor, into the base game ahead of Legion’s release. Prior to this, Warlords of Draenor was on sale for $9.99 but according to recent sightings, it has been removed. A Blizzard rep has confirmed on Reddit that the expansion is now part of the base game.

As you might have heard, Blizzard will be giving out free copies of World of Warcraft to those who attend the movie, which means that essentially you get the whole game free and will only need to buy Legion if you want to catch up on all of the content. As expected, some gamers are miffed that this decision was made without any prior announcement as some gamers have bought the base game and Warlords of Draenor.

The good news is that Blizzard looks like they might entertain a refund. According to the rep, “If the purchase was done just a few days ahead of the promotion, then we should have been able to assist. Please PM me the Battletag (and ID#) for the account that contacted us and I’ll be happy to take another look at this.”
