The Xbox One’s price has been revised multiple times since it was released in November 2013. The biggest price change came when Microsoft decided to unbundle Kinect from Xbox One. Later the price was cut by $50 to increase sales and effectively compete against the PlayStation 4, which is very far ahead in terms of sheer sales. Microsoft has once again cut the Xbox One price but the timing of this move is rather interesting.

Over the past few weeks, it has been consistently rumored that Microsoft is going to showcase new hardware at E3 2016 next month. Many expect that the company is going to launch an updated Xbox One console at E3.

The updated console is also being referred to as the “slim” Xbox One. It’s expected to be 40 percent smaller than the current console. If and when it arrives, Microsoft might offer it at a higher price while it continues to clear the existing Xbox One inventory at this new price.

Starting today, you can purchase the Xbox One for $299. That’s a $50 discount as opposed to the usual retail price. This discount applies to all bundles as well which are cheaper by $50 now until June 13th. The company says that this is a limited time promotion so if you’ve been meaning to get an Xbox One on the cheap, this is your chance to grab one.
