MacBook-Pro-with-OS-X-Mavericks-640x393If you own the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro and your computer has been experiencing a bit of freezing every now and then, don’t worry because you’re not alone in this. It seems that many MacBook Pro owners have taken to the Apple forums to voice their concerns about the issue, and it looks like Apple has finally acknowledged them.

Note that this issue only seems to occur when Safari is launched. What happens is that when Safari is launched, some MacBook Pro owners are claiming that it completely freezes up and the only way to get around it is to do a full system restart. This issue started popping up in March following the release of the OS X 10.11.4 update, and for now it seems that the majority of users experiencing this problem are owners of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro.

Of course this has also affected other Mac owners, but like we said, the majority of complaints seems to be from 13-inch MacBook Pro owners. That being said, Apple has acknowledged the problem and has offered up a solution to it, which is to update to OS X 10.11.5 and also to upgrade to the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player plugin.

OS X 10.11.5 was released several weeks ago so if you’ve been holding off on updating, perhaps now might be a good time to do so. Reports are claiming that updating to the latest version has fixed the problem.
