2tb-xbox-one

Rumor has it that Microsoft is going to unveil new hardware at its E3 2016 press event. Some have suggested that this means a slim Xbox One is on the agenda even though Microsoft has not hinted that an updated console will be launched at E3. A new report appears to suggest that if the slim Xbox One doesn’t materialize, there’s a possibility that Microsoft will introduce a new Xbox One configuration that has 2TB internal storage.

Microsoft launched the 1TB Xbox One configuration in June last year which is why it’s not surprising to see this report pop up now, it’s been a full year since the 1TB model was launched.

Everything else about the console remained the same, the only update it got was the bump in internal storage, and that’s now expected to be increased to 2 terabytes.

GameSpot hears from a GameStop source that the store’s internal database has been updated to include a 2TB Xbox One model listing which is priced at $449. A placeholder release date of December 31st, 2016 is also mentioned which only suggests that it might be released at some point later this year.

As for the announcement, we’ll only find out at Microsoft’s E3 2016 event if the 2TB Xbox One will be unveiled in June this year or whether it intends to offer this configuration during the holiday season. There’s also the possibility that a 2TB Xbox One may never materialize, so keep your fingers crossed if you want more internal storage on the console.
