When you think of tripods, you probably think of those huge, heavy, and bulky accessories that you tend to see professional photographers carry around. Sure, there are smaller tripods but they’re all still pretty obvious and also definitely not pocketable. Now if you wanted a pocketable tripod, you’re in luck because there’s an Indiegogo campaign for one.

Dubbed the mini Plaster Hand, this is a belt tripod that can be folded up and slipped into your pocket. Now the question is, what is a belt tripod? Basically this is a tripod that is shaped like a belt. It comes with a threaded mount so you can attach your camera, but because of its belt-like nature, it allows photographers to wrap the tripod around objects, like a handrail, a lamp post, and more.

This will be useful in situations where you want to capture a shot but don’t really have a flat surface to mount your camera on. Alternatively you could do away with the belt and use the threaded mount as your base. There is even an option to get it with a ball head if you’d like more options when it comes to positioning the angle of your camera and so on.

Safe to say the mini Plaster Hand will probably not beat the likes of a regular tripod, but if you’re looking for some form of stabilizer to bring with you during your travels that is inconspicuous, then perhaps this is an Indiegogo project worth checking out.
