Earlier today ahead of the official reveal, we already caught a glimpse at the upcoming Rise of Iron expansion for Destiny. For those curious about the expansion and looking forward to a more proper trailer, wonder no more because the folks at Bungie have officially taken the wraps off Destiny’s next expansion.

Sure enough the expansion will be called Rise of Iron, and just like we saw in the leaked trailer, the game will be available come 20th of September. It will be sort of a continuation of last year’s The Taken King expansion which is why as we said in our previous report, it will require gamers to own the expansion in order to play Rise of Iron.

The expansion will add a new Plaguelands zone to the game, a new endgame raid, new story missions, and a new three-player “Strike” mission which has been described as being similar to dungeons/instances (essentially a smaller scale raid of sorts). There will be a new enemy faction and the usual assortment of new items, weapons, and a new level cap.

It will be priced at $29.99 and it seems that it has been confirmed to be skipping last-gen consoles, so only players who own the PS4 and Xbox One will be able to get in on this.
