Codemasters confirmed the new F1 title late last month when it released work-in-progress screenshots from the game. We knew that we will hear more about this title during E3 2016 and we have. Codemasters has now confirmed the F1 2016 release date and it has also shared the first gameplay footage from the title. The footage mentions that it’s a work-in-progress so any judgement on the graphics will be premature at this point in time.

The developer has said that the new F1 title has the “most immersive career” mode ever, it spans 10 seasons and will take players deeper into the world of F1, both on and off the track.

Players will also be able to experience the practice development program for the first time ever which enables them to take advantage of the testing done by teams on a grand prix weekend. There’s a lot more to do in this new F1 game than ever before.

The developer has also confirmed that F1 2016 will get a Limited Edition version as well which will have a “Career Booster” DLC pack for players who want a head start in their career mode.

The first gameplay footage of F1 2016 shows us Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo going for a flying lap on the Baku circuit, it’s a new street circuit in Azerbaijan that’s hosting its first ever grand prix this weekend.

F1 2016 is going to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 19th.
