If you’re an ardent Final Fantasy fan you might be aware that there’s a title in this franchise, widely regarded as one of the best, that wasn’t released in the United States. Square Enix is now fixing that, choosing to make the announcement prior to the important E3 2016 gaming convention in just a few days. It has confirmed today that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is going to be released for PlayStation 4 owners in the United States next year.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is the remastered international edition of this PlayStation 2 classic, the PlayStation 4 port will bring improved graphics and controls.

International Editions of Final Fantasy games have almost always been limited to players in Japan. They have features of versions released in other markets, aside from a host of other revisions and modes.

It would be nice for fans in the United States to get their hands on this title, it comes with a reimagined battle system called the Zodiac Job System, a new Trial Mode that has 100 stages of increasingly difficult battles and a New Game Plus mode which lets players complete the game only to restart from the beginning with special abilities and items.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is going to be released for PlayStation 4 at some point in 2017.
