fujifilm_x-t1_01Following the launch of the Fujifilm X-Pro2, the next highly-anticipated Fujifilm camera is expected to be the X-T2, the successor to the popular X-T1. We have been hearing rumors that the camera could be launched in June or possibly even July, but now it looks like it’s starting to shape up to be a July launch.

As pointed out by Fuji Rumors, Fujifilm has recently started to hand out invites to a VIP event that they will be hosting on the 7th of July. The event is supposed to be a Fujifilm X series VIP event, meaning that we will probably be treated to X series related announcements, whether it be lenses or even a brand new camera.

Now according to the agenda for the night, there is no mention of product announcements. It seems that the event will see exotic cars being displayed to be photographed, free food, models, sharing of photographers, and also mingling with other Fujifilm X-series photographers, but it would be odd that Fujifilm won’t try to sell anyone anything at the event, right?

In any case it is possible that the June launch is still on and that this VIP event could be providing hands-on demos to photographers, but either way we will be keeping our eye on both the June and July dates, so check back with us in the coming weeks for the details!
