fujifilm_x-t1_04Last we heard, the Fujifilm X-T2 was rumored for a June/July launch. It had been speculated that the camera’s launch would most likely take place in July because it seems that the X-Pro2 has been selling really well, so Fujifilm doesn’t want the launch of the X-T2 to detract or distract from the X-Pro2 sales (the X-Pro2 is also priced higher).

However now it seems that according to new reports, a French retailer has indicated that the X-T2 will be launched come 14th of July which is basically next Tuesday! That is pretty soon and a lot earlier than what we had expected, but of course since this hasn’t been confirmed do take it with a grain of salt for now.

That being said, retailers sometimes know what’s going happen ahead of the public. After all we’re sure that the folks at Fujifilm have probably told their partners about the launch in order to try and gauge how many units that they will be sending to retailers. At the same time, sometimes retailers can get ahead of themselves to try and guess the launch date in order to generate hype.

Either way we guess if the report of a June 14 launch is true, we won’t have to wait too long to find out, so remember to check back with us in the coming week for more updates, and hopefully the official details.
