If you’ve ever used air conditioning for long periods of time, you know that not only do they drive up your electricity bills, but it is also not good for the environment due to the extra energy that is being burnt just to give power to your air conditioner, but we know that the summer can get rather unbearable which is why maybe the Geizeer might be worth checking out.

Geizeer is a tiny box that runs on batteries, but with its frozen core, it is said to be able to help cool down the air in a room and all it will cost you is less than 1 cent a day. How does it work? Geizeer will sport a core that you can freeze inside your freezer. It is reusable. It also sports a small fan that’s about the size of a computer fan that will blow air onto the core.

The cold air will then be distributed throughout the room, thus cooling it down. Of course it won’t be as powerful compared to an actual air conditioning unit, but if you’re looking to save some money and the environment, the Geizeer should be good enough to cool your room down for you to feel comfortable.

Alternatively you could always buy a few units if you’d like a greater effect. It also runs on batteries which can be recharged via micro USB. It is small and portable so bringing it with you on trips it also possible. So far it seems that its Kickstarter campaign has been met with huge success and if you’d like to get in on it, there’s still time so go ahead and check it out.
