Google introduced the “My Account” hub exactly one year ago with an aim to make it easier for users to have quick access to controls for protecting their data and their privacy on Google. This hub brings all of the essential privacy and security tools in one place, including some long-standing features like Ads Settings. These tools collectively enable users to fine tune how secure their online presence is on Google.
The company is celebrating the first birthday of the My Account hub and in the spirit of celebration it has come out with some new improvements for the My Account hub.
Find your phone is a new feature added to My Hub. It will enable users to locate their phone if it’s lost or stolen. Not only does it allow for tracking of the handset, it can also be used to remotely lock or call the handset, leave a callback number on the screen, secure accounts, and more.
This feature will allow users to locate both Android and iOS devices, and the feature will be accessible through Google Search as well by simply typing “I lost my phone.”
Google is making it easier to access My Account by using just voice commands. The “Ok Google, show me my Google account,” command in the latest Google app will them straight to the hub. This feature has gone live today in English with support for other languages coming soon.
The company revealed today that in the past year more than one billion people from across the globe have used the My Account hub to manage and control their privacy.
