There’s a bit of bad news for folks who have been waiting for the PlayStation 4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn game, as it has been confirmed today that the release of this game has been delayed until next year. The confirmation comes from Sony and Guerrilla Games. To ease the pain of this delay, they have released a new trailer of Horizon Zero Dawn as compensation.

Hermen Hulst of Guerrilla Games says that this wasn’t an easy choice to make, given that so many people have been anxious to play this game ever since it was first announced.

However, Hulst says that they want to ensure that this game is up to the visuals and gameplay quality that their games are known for. The new release date gives the studio additional time it needs to fully deliver on its ambitious vision of Horizon Zero Dawn.

He agrees that this decision is not going to please everyone, but he remains confident that the advantages this additional development time brings will become clear in the coming months as more details and videos of the game are shared.

No release date had been announced previously, it was only said that the game would be released in 2016. As it stands, Horizon Zero Dawn is now slated for release in March 2017.
