Looking for a mobile wallet to use on your smartphone? At the moment it seems that save for PayPal, the majority of mobile payment solutions appear to be exclusive to platforms, like Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Samsung Pay, just to name a few. Now it looks like Microsoft wants in as well and has since launched Microsoft Wallet which will bring tap-to-pay features to Windows 10 Mobile users.

However unfortunately for now it seems that the feature is only available to Windows Insiders, but we expect that it will eventually find its way to non-Insiders as well once the testing phase is complete. “Microsoft Wallet is a cloud-based payment technology that will make mobile payments simple and more secure for Windows 10 Mobile devices, starting in the U.S. with our Lumia 950, 950 XL and 650.”

This is a bit limiting as it narrows down the numbers of users who can use the feature even more as it is more or less restricted to just 3 devices. That being said, Microsoft Wallet is also similar to other mobile wallets we’ve seen, in which users can use the feature to store things like membership/loyalty cards so that they can scan them on the spot.

In the meantime if you happen to be a Windows Insider with a Lumia 950, 950 XL, or 650, you can head on over to Microsoft’s website to find out where you will be able to use the service at.
