overwatch-lucio-screenshot-003A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Overwatch had overtaken League of Legends to be the most popular PC bang game in South Korea. However it should be noted that back then, the stats were provided by one of the country’s leading PC bangs, and while they do claim a majority share, they still aren’t necessarily representative of all PC bangs.

However according to a report from Gametrics which tracks and charts the 4,000 or so PC bangs in South Korea, it looks like it is more or less official that Overwatch is now the country’s most popular game to play in PC bangs, which for those unfamiliar are basically LAN cafes where people can get together and play PC games.

According to the stats, it seems that Overwatch is now played by more than 30% of those who frequent the establishments. This has allowed the game to overtake the likes of League of Legends which is sitting at 27.8% share. While we suppose it is only inevitable that League of Legends would be overtaken, the fact that Overwatch is less than half a year old is a pretty impressive feat.

So far reviews of the game have been stellar and with Blizzard launching the game’s Competitive Play feature in the near future, we can only imagine that this will make it even more appealing to competitive and professional gamers.
