Philips today announced its first connected toothbrush for adults. The Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected uses Bluetooth and sends data to the Philips Sonicare app to track brushing in real-time. This enables the app to reveal trouble spots to the user and guide them to a “complete, dentist-approved clean.”

The company says that the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected brush uses smart sensor technology which specifically tracks brushing location, pressure, scrubbing, and sees if users need to change their brushing behavior to get a proper cleaning.

The brush has a Touch-Up feature that tells users the spots that they missed after brushing so that they can go back and ensure they have pearly whites every time.

All of the data is stored in the handle which makes it easy for users to monitor their brushing habits even when they don’t have their phone with them in the bathroom.

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected has only been announced today, the company says that it’s going to be available for purchase by mid-July for $199.
