playstation_vrThe Sony PlayStation VR will be officially launching on the 13th of October and if you’re hoping to get your hands on the device in time, Sony has reminded users that the 30th of June is the last day that you can pre-order the headsets, otherwise you’ll have to wait until the device has officially gone on sale to purchase it.

According to Sony, “As promised, we’re opening our summer wave of PS VR pre-orders starting Thursday, June 30 at 7:00 AM Pacific on GameStop.com. Supplies are limited, and this is your final chance to pre-order. If you miss out, we will have product available in retail stores nationwide at launch.”

Now as we have seen in the cases of the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift, there is a surprisingly huge demand for VR headsets despite their price and despite the somewhat small library of games available. We had previously reported how pre-orders for the headset in Japan are apparently off to a great start.

Even Sony has predicted that there could be some supply constraints at launch. It is possible that this is why pre-orders are closing on the 30th of June so that Sony will have a better idea of how many orders they’ll need to fulfil before concentrating on retail units.
