Earlier today, Capcom announced Resident Evil 7 and together with the announcement, they also released a demo that is available for the PS4 and PlayStation Plus subscribers. While we haven’t played the demo ourselves, from what we can tell that the folks at Capcom have certainly been inspired by the Silent Hills demo P.T.

Unfortunately for gamers who were hoping that this demo is part of the overall game, you will be disappointed to learn that it won’t. In a confirmation to Eurogamer, Capcom has stated that the demo will not be part of the overall game, and that the lead character in the demo will also not be part of the game.

Konami pulled a similar move with the P.T. demo which was basically meant to tease gamers as to what they can expect from Silent Hills, which has since been cancelled. We guess the fact that this was a demo kind of makes sense, although judging by the reactions, we’re sure there are many gamers who were hoping that it would have been part of the final game.

In the meantime you can check out the video above in which Eurogamer plays through the demo of the game, which might be of interest to gamers who do not have a PS4 and a PlayStation Plus subscription. Resident Evil 7 will be released come 24th January, 2017.
