Android 7.0 Nougat has been announced for several months already and Google has rolled out the developer preview to those who are willing to take the update for a spin. The good news is that it looks like Google is done with the update as they have announced the final developer preview release.
Basically this is the final developer preview for Android 7.0 Nougat, meaning that what you see now is probably what you can expect from the final release which is expected to begin rolling out later this summer. This is a bit earlier than expected as previous Android releases have usually taken place in the later part of the year.
However we guess we can’t complain if an update is headed our way earlier than expected. That being said, the release of the update for your phone is a different story as it will depend on when your OEM decides to push out the update, or in some cases it could also depend on whether or not your carrier has given the “OK” for the update to be released.
Either way we’ll be keeping an eye out for Android 7.0 Nougat’s release date, but in the meantime this is the final dev preview and you can check it out for yourself if you’d like to get an early idea of what you can expect from the final version.
