You may soon be able to enjoy Battlefield outside of your console. Electronic Arts has sold Battlefield TV rights to Paramount TV and Anonymous Content, meaning now they can legally create a TV series based on this popular EA franchise. They have only acquired the rights so far which means it could take some time before a Battlefield TV series hits TV screens across the globe, but at least it’s one step closer to happening now.

Executive producers of the Battlefield TV series include Ashley Zalta from Anonymous Content as well as Michael Suger who produced the Oscar-winning movie Spotlight.

Battlefield is a got fit for TV given that it has raked in more than 60 million players across the globe ever since the first Battlefield title was released back in 2002. EA is already gearing up to release the latest iteration of this franchise – Battlefield 1 – later this year in the fall.

“EA’s Battlefield has an incredibly dynamic narrative, coupled with a loyal fan base, which will allow us to bring this exciting and unique property to the small screen,” said Amy Powell, president of Paramount TV.

Paramount TV and Anonymous Content now have a first-look scripted programming deal for premium cable, broadcast, cable, and online distribution. Hopefully, this Battlefield TV series will make the cut, Fox decided to develop Battlefield: Bad Company for TV back in 2012 but the series never aired.
