google_playBack in the day it was pretty much every user for themselves. It didn’t matter if you were my brother, sister, mother, father, wife, husband, and so on, everyone pretty much needed their own account, or someone had to share their account and credit card details. However fast forward to today, companies like Apple have introduced Family Plans that allows sharing of purchases.

Now Google had their own Family Plans but it seemed to be limited to their Play Music service, but now a report from CNET has revealed that Google plans to expand beyond music and apply it to other areas. The report claims that the new family plan will be known as Google Play Family Library which will let up to six users share a single Google Play account.

Essentially what this means is that if one person purchases an app or a song, video, or book, it will be available to everyone that is under this account holder’s plan. Interestingly enough it seems like users won’t even need to pay extra to take part in this plan, meaning that what you pay now for apps, music, and videos will remain unchanged.

This is ideal for families with young children in which parents can then keep a close eye on the apps and media that they download. It is expected to begin rolling out to users later this month, so keep an eye out for it if you do plan to take advantage of it.
