touchid-130916-1If you’ve been with Apple and their iPhone from the start, there’s a good chance that you’re a little paranoid about the home button and its longevity. Earlier iPhone models seemed to have issues with the home button, although this is something that Apple seems to have addressed in their newer models.

That being said, we suppose the fact that it is a moving part is always cause for a bit of concern. However the iPhone 7 could alleviate those fears. A report from Macotakara (via MacRumors) seems to suggest that the iPhone 7 could be sporting a flush 3D Touch home button. This means that the button doesn’t actually move, but the 3D Touch feature will provide haptic feedback.

If you’re wondering why this sounds familiar, it is because earlier rumors have suggested the same thing. In fact last month a photo surfaced which showed the alleged home button that sits flush against the body of the iPhone. Of course whether or not the photo was the real deal is unclear, but it does line up with the latest claims.

Interestingly enough the rumors of a flush home button seem to be more in line with rumors of 2017’s iPhone. This year’s iPhone is said to be a slightly revamped iPhone 6/6s save for some slight changes, but if the reports are true, it seems that the changes might be more extensive than we thought.
