Lady-LaytonLast week the folks at Level-5 announced a new Professor Layton game. However instead of it featuring the good professor, it will feature his daughter. Now during the announcement, it was revealed that the game would be launched in Japan in the spring 2017, and there was no mention of whether or not it would be localized for English-speaking markets.

The good news is that Level-5 has since confirmed that there will be a English localized version that will also be launching in 2017. According to the developers, the game is being titled “Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy” as its English title. The release date just says 2017 so for now we guess we’ll have to no choice to wait, but chances are it will probably be after the Japanese release, or maybe even roughly around the same time if we are lucky.

According to Level-5, “The story will focus less on dynamic problem-solving and more on solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners, which will bring a faster tempo and more comical tone to the series. It will be more familiar — and funnier — than ever, while maintaining an adventurous quality. The creators of the puzzles and brain-teasers, the core element of the series, will also be new.”

The game will also be seeing a release on the Nintendo 3DS as well as smartphones, whereas prior to the this, the previous Professor Layton game was released only on smartphones.
