making-a-murderer
Netflix released a true crime documentary series last year called Making a Murderer and it soon became a hit. The show followed the arrest, trial, and the subsequent conviction of Steven Avery. He hails from Manitowoc County, Wisconsin and he was found guilty of murdering local photographer Teresa Halbach. Netflix has confirmed today that it’s going to release Making a Murderer season 2 later this year.

Avery will continue to be the subject of this Netflix original series. The second season of Making a Murderer is going to provide viewers a glimpse of his lift after conviction and will also feature input from Avery’s new legal team.

This is the kind of show that tends to divide public opinion and that’s one of the reasons for its immense popularity. The first season didn’t explicitly argue for Avery’s innocence but he was portrayed as a sympathetic character who just might have been in the wrong place at the wrong time even though the evidence pointed to the contrary.

The public opinion has swayed over this conviction ever since the series was aired last year but there have been no fundamental changes to Avery’s case. Netflix has only confirmed today that Making a Murderer season 2 will be released later this year, it hasn’t confirmed how many episodes will be in the upcoming season.
