Lenovo’s new Droid handsets will be available in the United States from Verizon in the near future. It has been confirmed today that the Moto Z Droid and the Moto Z Force Droid will be available for purchase from Verizon starting July 28th. Pre-orders for both handsets are open today, they’re quite similar when it comes to specifications so it will really come down to one or two things that will make customers decide which one they want.

The Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid both feature a 5.5 inch Quad HD display, they’re powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM and up to 64GB of storage. They also don’t have a standard headset jack meaning users either have to get a pair of Bluetooth headphones or use a USB-C dongle which comes bundled with the handsets.

Battery and camera are the two major differentiating factors between the two Droids. The Moto Z and Moto Z Force feature a 13 megapixel and 21 megapixel rear camera as well as a 2,600mAh and 3,500mAh battery respectively.

The Moto Z has standard Gorilla Glass 4 display protection while the Moto Z Force has Motorola’s ShatterShield technology which protects it from shattering or cracking when dropped. Verizon has started taking pre-orders for both handsets today. The Moto Z Force can be had for $30 per month while the Moto Z will cost $26 per month on Verizon’s device payment plan.
