Star Trek fans will be happy to hear that Netflix has struck an agreement which allows the online video streaming giant to stream episodes of the new Star Trek series one day after they’re aired in the United States. Netflix has acquired global streaming rights for the upcoming episodes which means that they will be available one day after they air in the U.S. in 188 countries across the globe through Netflix.

Folks in the United States will be able to stream the new series online through CBS All Access, the online subscription video-on-demand and live streaming service operated by CBS.

Netflix already plays host to all of the previous Star Trek series, Star Trek: The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise. They will be made available in all of Netflix’s supported territories by the end of this year.

The new Star Trek series comprises of 13 episodes all of which will be aired in the US first before they are made available online. Star Trek fans who are located outside the United States and Canada will be able to stream the new episodes through Netflix. New Trek premiers in January next year and all of the episodes will be available on Netflix within 24 hours of being aired in the United States.
