sombra overwatchWe had heard rumors that Blizzard was planning on introducing a new hero to Overwatch. This was later “confirmed” when Blizzard posted a teaser on Twitter, although when exactly this announcement/reveal will be made remains to be seen. However we might now have a date to look forward to.

It seems that Blizzard and some of the Overwatch team will be attending Comic-Con and according to the description of the panel, it confirms that Blizzard will be revealing the game’s latest character then, although the reveal and the release date might not necessarily fall on the same date.

According to the description it reads, “Blizzard developers James Waugh (director of story & creative development), Michael Chu (senior designer, Overwatch), and Arnold Tsang (assistant art director, Overwatch) present a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process of developing the art, design, and story for Overwatch’s newest hero.”

So far what we know about the hero is that it will probably be a support hero that can heal from afar. There has been speculation that it could be Sombra, one of the original Overwatch members and also the mother of Pharah, but we guess we’ll have to wait until the 21st of July to hear all the official details.
