During the Sonic 25th Anniversary celebration in Tokyo last month, SEGA confirmed that it’s going to release a new Sonic the Hedgehog game in the not so distant future. The announcement was made by Sonic team boss Takashi Iizuka and he promised that he would reveal more about this game during the Sonic anniversary event at the San Diego Comic-Con. As promised, a teaser for the upcoming Sonic game was released at San Diego Comic-Con during SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Party.

This new game is known as Project Sonic at this point in time because SEGA hasn’t officially confirmed a moniker as yet. There aren’t any rumors at this point in time which suggest what this game might end up being called.

A teaser trailer for the game has been released today, however, it doesn’t reveal a lot of details about the title itself. We can only see destruction taking place in the teaser trailer and Sonic being aided by a familiar face. It raises more questions than it answers.

SEGA has promised that it’s going to reveal more information about Project Sonic in the coming days. The game itself is going to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo NX and Windows PC in both digital and physical format by the holiday season in 2017.
