rise of the tomb raiderLast year in July, it was confirmed that Rise of the Tomb Raider would eventually find its way to the PC and PS4. Then in December last year, the rumors were saying that we could be looking at an early 2016 release, possibly even January. Unfortunately we are already in July meaning that those rumors have obviously fallen flat.

That being said, for PS4 gamers looking forward to playing the game, we have a potential new date to look forward to. According to a listing by GameStop Italy, the retailer has set the release date for the PS4 version of the game for the 11th of October, 2016, which is nearly a year after the game was released on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Now obviously there is no way to confirm if the date listed by GameStop Italy is the real deal. It is rather specific which has us thinking that maybe it could be real. After all we’re sure that retailers do have a bit of inside knowledge when it comes to release dates so that they can get their stores and promotional materials prepared ahead of the launch.

Neither Sony nor Square Enix have said anything yet so maybe we shouldn’t get too excited just yet, but at least now we have a date that we can potentially look forward to, but just in case do remember to check back with us later for the confirmation.
