I can list countless reasons why SSD storage is better than your conventional hard drive, the biggest reason being that it’s considerably faster, but the only downside here is that SSDs are still relatively expensive when compared to HDDs. If you’re looking for several TBs of SSD storage and money is no object then Samsung has just the perfect thing for you.

Samsung has released the 850 Evo SSD with 4TB capacity. It’s a standard SSD with this amazing amount of storage with a price tag to match. It’s powered by Samsung’s V-NAND technology and provides sequential read and write speeds of up to 540MB/s and 520MB/s respectively. Random read and write IOPS performance is up to 98K and 90K respectively.

Samsung has created the 850 EVO SSD with multiple form factors in mind so this 2.5 inch SSD can fit most desktop PCs and laptops. AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption is present onboard alongside the Dynamic Thermal Guard. The SSD comes with a five year limited warranty.

The 4TB 850 EVO SATA III SSD from Samsung is now available for pre-order, it’s going to start shipping from July 31st. As previously mentioned, it costs a pretty penny, $1,499 to be precise. That’s enough to buy a brand new MacBook, Huawei MateBook, or a Surface Book from Microsoft. It goes without saying that this SSD option is reserved for only those who don’t mind spending $1,500 on internal storage.

Samsung 850 EVO 4TB is available for purchase from Amazon.
