scrivener_ios-main_shotEarlier this year we reported that popular writing app for the Mac “Scrivener” would be making its way onto iOS. For those who prefer writing down ideas on their phones since they tend to carry their phones around more often than their laptops, this was welcome news. Now it looks like after about 4 months of waiting, the app is finally here.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Scrivener, this isn’t so much a word processor like Apple’s Pages app or Microsoft Word. Scrivener is aimed at writers in mind who want a better way to organize their thoughts and their writings. One of the app’s features is that it lets users break down their manuscript into as many pieces of text as they like.

This means that if bits and pieces of inspiration hit you at random times of the day, you can jot them down even if they’re not in chronological order to your story/article, and you can rearrange them later. It also lets users collect images that you might want to use as inspiration for your story, which in a way reminds us a bit of Evernote.

Best of all, the iOS app will sync with your OS X app, meaning that what you write on your phone will sync with your computer so you can pick up where you left off. Unfortunately Scrivener is not cheap as it is priced at $20, and even if you own the desktop version of the app, you will still need to purchase the iOS version separately.
