direct-2-you-sprint
Apple is going to release its new iPhones in around two months. The company’s smartphones drive a lot of business for mobile carriers in the United States which is why it makes sense for Sprint to make its plans slightly more expensive prior to the launch of the 2016 iPhones. Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure has said that Sprint is getting rid of its half-off promotion and that the carrier will introduce “a new set of rate plans before the next iPhone.”

Claure didn’t outright say that Sprint is going to be raising prices but he did mention that the aim with this exercise is to do things “that generate shareholder value,” that’s basically corporate speak for we’re going to raise prices so that our shareholders can make money.

The CEO has also said that the next move Sprint makes is going to be aggressive and game changing, though he didn’t exactly go into the specifics of that just yet.

Customers can still take advantage of Sprint’s half-price service for a limited time, they will be entitled to keep it until May 31, 2018. Sprint hasn’t said what will happen to those customers after the final date is reached, I guess we’ll have to wait and find out for ourselves.
