Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveAs some of you guys might have heard, the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community is facing a bit of a scandal/controversy right now over skin gambling websites. After many had expressed their outrage, Valve has finally opted to do something about and according to reports, the company has started sending out notices to at least 23 different gambling websites.

According to the letter sent by Karl Quackenbash, the general counsel to Valve, “We are aware that you are operating one of the gambling sites listed below. You are using Steam accounts to conduct this business. Your use of Steam is subject to the terms of the Steam Subscriber Agreement (‘SSA’).”

The letter goes on to say that these websites will need to cease and desist their operations immediately. If they fail to do so within the next 10 days, Valve will be pursuing “all available remedies” such as presumably legal oes, and also the possible termination of their Steam-related accounts.

Prior to this, a Counter-Strike player had filed a lawsuit against Valve, claiming that the company had fostered a gambling market through its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive weapon skins. Hopefully with Valve now being proactive in taking down these gambling websites, players will be appeased.
