wow legionIf you have been playing the Warcraft franchise throughout its entirety including World of Warcraft, chances are your knowledge of the game’s lore should be pretty up to scratch. However for those getting into the game for the first time, or for the first time after a long time, there are probably man “huh?” moments for them.

It seems that Blizzard wants to address this by launching an audio drama for the game. During the World of Warcraft panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Blizzard revealed their plans for the audio drama, which also marks a brand new format for the company. Prior to this, Blizzard addressed the lore in the game through comics, videos, and books, so launching audio drama would be new territory.

The first audio drama will be launched on the 1st of August which will be titled, Tomb of Sargeras. This audio drama is basically a setup towards the upcoming Legion expansion, so gamers getting back into the game or who are clueless about the importance of Sargeras should be able to glean something from this.

This will be the first of four episodes that will be released in podcast format. According to Blizzard’s director of story and creative development, James Waugh, “We’re really excited about this internally. If the community likes it, we’ll probably try to do more.”
