demon invasion legionAs you might have heard, Blizzard recently teased that the World of Warcraft Legion pre-patch will be coming soon. As Blizzard has done in previous expansions, there will be an event ahead of the expansion’s release which helps bridge the story between the current expansion and the next, and with Legion there is no difference.

According to Blizzard, gamers can look forward to the demon invasion (again) of Azeroth.  There will be incursions and diversions that will be taking place all over Azeroth and players will be able to identify where they invasions are taking place by looking at their world map. From there they will be able to head out to those zones to lend a helping hand at keeping the demons at bay.

Blizzard notes that as the weeks progress leading up to the expansion, the assault will begin to intensify. Participating in these invasions will see players rewarded with Nethershards that appear to give players transmog items. The bosses will also have a chance of dropping weapons that are item level 700, meaning that if you didn’t get to raid much in Warlords of Draenor, you could potentially use these weapons during the early stages of Legion, or as a transmog if you’d prefer.

World of Warcraft Legion has been set for a release on the 30th of August and as Blizzard had previously reminded gamers, certain elements of the game like questlines and drops will be removed then, so gamers still have about a week or so left if you want them.
